Departing from the exhibition Katia Kameli: She Rekindled the Vividness of the Past in the Kunsthalle Münster, we will explore Münster by bicycle. Where have traces of colonialism inscribed themselves into the cityscape, and how does today’s urban society deal with the colonial heritage? At the Kunsthalle, we will start out by looking at Kameli’s work Trou de Mémoire (2018), which negotiates an approach to the rewriting of history and its impact on present historiography. Afterwards, we will visit four selected spots (Traindenkmal, Alter Zoo Münster/the former Eulenhaus, Kettelerdenkmal, Schlossplatz/former Hindenburgplatz), and will benefit from the opportunity to talk about changes but also gaps in the city’s memory.

A cooperation between Kunsthalle Münster and Stadtarchiv Münster.
