24/05/2024 – 26/05/2024, Open House
, Speicher 2
Friday, 24/5/2024, 7 – 11 pm
Saturday, 25/5 + Sunday, 26/5/2024, 12 – 7 pm
Every year, the studios in Speicher II open their doors to present the latest works and artistic creations of the past year to the public. This year there is also a special reason to celebrate: Speicher II is 20 years old.
The entire spectrum of contemporary art will be on display, from painting and drawing, photography, sculpture and installation art to film and video, sound art and performance. The Open House offers an interested public the opportunity to experience freelance artists and their workplaces up close and to find out more about their work in a personal conversation.
Since its opening in 2004, the Atelierhaus an Münsters Hafen has developed into a central location for young art with supra-regional significance and international appeal. Together with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the publisher Wolfgang Hölker, the city of Münster has converted the former granary into a production and presentation venue for contemporary art. The 32 studios funded by the City of Münster's Department of Culture provide professional artists with excellent working conditions for several years at a time.
On the fifth floor of the building, Kunsthalle Münster is showing the exhibition forms of the surrounding futures, which deals with queer futures, during the Open House. To mark the anniversary, Mike Karstens Galerie is presenting works by artists from Germany and abroad.
We would like to celebrate 20 years of Speicher II with a concentrated load of the present. There is a lot to discover.
