Hannah Moraw: _Detangling Workshop

Two balls of wool, knotted together. In her four-hour performance, artist Hannah Moraw untangles the two intertwined threads. As an exploration of relationships and experiences of separation in her own life, she gave her 2022 work the purely rhetorical title Wie trennt man das, das nahezu eins geworden ist? [How do you separate something that has become almost one?].

Based on a larger-scale detangling performance as part of the 42nd Förderpreisausstellung der Freunde der Kunstakademie Münster, this time the focus will be on pragmatically exploring possible courses of action in separation and detangling processes. On March 21, 2026, the Detangling Workshop will address this question: From technical skills required for successful untangling to handicraft techniques, artistic positions, reflections on marriage and divorce, and topology, untangling and confusion will be discussed from various perspectives over the course of an afternoon.
